Smile at each other,
smile at your wife, smile at your husband,
smile at your children, smile at each other
-- it doesn't matter who it is --
and that will help you to grow up
in greater love for each other."
~Mother Teresa, Catholic Nun, Missionary, Nobel Peace Prize Recipient
A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious
stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was
hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The
hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it
to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveler left, rejoicing
in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him
security for a lifetime. But a few days later he came back to return
the stone to the wise woman.
"I've been thinking," he said, "I know how valuable the stone is, but
I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more
precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give
me the stone."
You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when
you give of yourself that you truly give.
~ Kahlil Gibran, Lebanese Poet and Novelist
No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.
~ Aesop, Greek Author
Never look down on anybody unless you're helping them up.
~ The Reverend Jesse Jackson, American Civil Rights Leader
At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have
received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have
done. We will be judged by 'I was hungry and you gave me to eat, I was
naked and you clothed me, I was homeless and you took me in.'
Hungry not only for bread -- but hungry for love. Naked not only for
clothing -- but naked for human dignity and respect. Homeless not
only for want of a room of bricks -- but homeless because of

You cannot do a kindness too soon because you never know how soon it
will be too late.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet
People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered...
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives...
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies...
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow...
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable...
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the
smallest person with the smallest mind...
Think big anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight...
People really need help but may attack if you help them...
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you might get kicked in the teeth...
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
~ Mother Teresa, Catholic Nun, Missionary,
From what we get, we make a living;
From what we give, however, we make a life.
~ Arthur Ashe, American Tennis Player
Nothing is so strong as gentleness,
and nothing is so gentle as true strength.
~ Ralph Sockman
When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you don't blame the
lettuce. You look for reasons it is not doing well. You never blame
the lettuce. Yet if we have problems with our friends or family, we
blame the other person. Blaming has no positive effect at all.
Show that you understand, that you can love,
and the situation will change.~ Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Zen Master and Spiritual Leader
The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches.
but reveal to them their own.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind
word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of
caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
~ Leo Buscaglia, Author
I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing
therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any
fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again.
~ Stephen Grellet, Quaker Missionary 1773-1855
