Scott & Kristy Nilsson's Travels
Brasstown Bald Area
(in the north Georgia Mountains)
Details on each memorable stop ~
Brasstown Bald The highest mountain in Georgia! The view of neighboring mountains and lakes is spectacular and a nice observation deck with pay telescopes has been built on top of the visitor's center to enhance the view. From Brasstown Bald, you can see parts of Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama!
Hiker Information: After driving most of the way up the mountain, the very steep, paved trail to the top is surrounded by rhododendron and lush trees. Hiker information and trivia is posted along the trail. Alternatively, the road goes to the top as well (for hikers, not for guest vehicles) - with a longer, slightly less-steep grade.
Parking Fee: $2

Accessibility: There is a shuttle vehicle available during park business hours to drive guests to the top; additionally, the facility at the top has an elevator.
