Description

History:

The Nutcracker was first commissioned by Lisa Sheppard Robson for Gwinnett Ballet Theatre during the summer of 2004.  It was performed to sold-out and nearly sold-out houses for 16 shows during 2004 and 2005.  The response was excellent!  Audience favorites were the ballerina dolls and rag dolls, the complex and humorous battle, the lovely snowflakes, the beautiful Archangels, the flirtatious Chinese dancers, the exciting Russian dancers, the hysterical rats dancing with Fritz and the touching epilogue.  Audiences especially responded to the first act, which dozens of people reporting having been the best and most entertaining first act they had ever seen.
